This is the oval shoulder patch that was worn by a member of the 9th Army. The patch book states that they used this pattern patch while they served from September 21, 1944 until October 1945. This one would date from the ww2 era because of the material it is made from and the construction. The patch itself is the 9 sided design with red and white color and in the center is the white letter "A" which is the 1st letter in the word "Army". This one as you can see was worn but displays well. it is a "no glow" under the black lite test. which means the material is correct for the WW2 and WW2 occupation forces era (1940-1950). It measures 2-3/8ths inches in overall size.
