This is a great looking little gun! It is a iron barreled single shot pistol made in England. This is the pattern that would have been made about 1820 or so. The overall length of the gun is 5-1/2 inches and 1-1/2 of those inches are the barrel. It fires a single shot of about .36 caliber. The metal parts of the gun have a pleasing dark tone all over. The gun is in the original flintlock configuration and the action is complete and in fine working order. It even has sliding safety behind the hammer. The side of the frame has the maker’s name of "Wheeler” and the other side has the "London" production location. The wood on the gun has a beautiful look with a furniture grade grain all over. The gun sports an iron triggerguard with the starburst design on the barrel side. The underside of the barrel has the correct English proof marks still clearly visible. This is a great looking and complete early 1800's flintlock.
