This is a RARE original Civil War bullet mold. This is the brass mold that would have gone along with a military model .36 caliber Massachusetts Arms Company revolver. We know this because of the markings on the side of the legs of the mold. You can still clearly see the stamp that reads "MASS Arms Company/ CHICOPEE FALLS”. According to Flayderman's guide, only 600 of the Adams patent revolvers were purchased from the Massachusetts Arms Company. This is the only the 2nd one of these molds we have ever encountered. The mold is in superb condition and has an attractive patina as you can see. It is designed to cast one round ball and one conical bullet. It still has the original iron sprue cutter at the top as well as the screw is intact. The sprue cutter still retains a great amount of the original factory bluing. You might not ever get another opportunity to own a superb one of these rare bullet molds for the Adams patent revolvers manufactured by the Massachusetts Arms Company.
