This is a backmark that you don’t often see offered. This is the classic great coat size artillery officer’s uniform button. It has the beautiful Union eagle on the front with the "A” in the middle of the shield on the eagle’s chest. This denotes the artillery branch of Civil War service. On the reverse of the button it has the original back and shank nicely intact. The retailer’s mark on the back is the tougher to find version that reads "*R&W ROBINSON*EXTRA RICH” This is a nice and clear and that maker mark is not an easy one to find. This is a fine eagle "A” infantry button with a desirable maker’s mark on the back.
