This is an attractive non-excavated coat size uniform button for the state of Massachusetts. It has the famous arm and sword design of Massachusetts on the face of the button. The face of the button has a fine amount of the original gold gilding remaining with an excellent look. This one has the original back and shank intact with the correct pre-Civil War backmark of R.&. W. Robinson of Attleboro, Massachusetts. It is the version listed as figure MS34 in Albert’s button book and MS208a1 in Tice’s button book. This is a fine button all the way around and just needs a nice home in your relic room.
