This is an original soldier's Belt Buckle from about 1900. This is the pattern that is illustrated on page #516 of the O’Donnell and Campbell buckle book as figure #871. It is the die-struck rolled brass belt buckle with the block letter style "MASS” in center of the plate with the unmarked background. They state that this buckle was worn by the Massachusetts Militia enlistedmen from about 1890 till 1905. On the back of the buckle it has the original applied tongue and belt loop bar. It has the small nail hole through the "A" as you can see and it is priced accordingly. This is a good looking and affordable non-Dug Massachusetts State belt buckle.
