WHAT A BEAUTY! This is one you rarely see offered for sale. It is the style of button listed as TX26B in Albert’s button book and TX256Bs1 in Tice’s button book. It is the Confederate made solid cast Texas soldier’s uniform button that measures 16.7mm across the face. Evidence shows that these were manufactured by T.E. Miller of Houston, Texas. This is one of my favorite Civil War Texas buttons as it is purely Confederate. The face of the solid cast button has the recessed center with the bold and clear "CS” lettering still visible. The button has a deep green, almost black patina that displays well. The back of the button has the entire shank present and in fine shape. This is a spectacular excavated scarce Confederate Made Texas button. The verbal history that accompanied this button is that it was recovered in a Confederate area in Louisiana. Don’t miss your chance at this beauty!
