This is a great original CDV image of a Confederate General. This is the CDV image of Confederate General Thomas Hart Taylor (1825-1901). The General was from Frankfort, Kentucky where he was born on July 31st 1825. He served during the Mexican War. When the Civil War started he was serving withe the 1st Kentucky Infantry in the Provisional Confederate Army. He served under Kirby Smith and then was on General Pemberton's staff at Vicksburg where he was captured. On November 4th 1862 he was appointed the rank of Brigadier General. After the Civil War he returned to Kentucky where he died on April 12th 1901. The image shows Hampton with his thick beard and his uniform from the bust view. The card stock on the reverse has the desirable Anthony photographer's marking. It has some old glue residue on the reverse and some wear and it is priced accordingly.
