This is a nice authentic and tough to find .36 caliber Beals model of Remington revolver. This is the early pattern of .36 caliber Remington revolver. The metal on the gun has a dark brownish black tone all over that is very pleasing to the eye. The It has the Beals Patent mark across the top of the barrel to go along with the Remington maker’s mark and Ilion, New York production location. At the end of the barrel it has the original silver cone sight intact. It has matching serial numbers of 2,605, which is in the early part of their production. There were only 14,500 of these Beals model revolvers made during their 1861-1862 production. The action works well on all positions. One of the nipple has the top chipped off and is mentioned for exactness. On the handle of the gun it has the original 2-piece walnut grip intact and they grips have a pleasing look all over. These grips have a wonderful grain to the walnut wood. Most of the Beals model Remington revolvers you encounter are just worn out but this one is complete and is in nice shape. This is a very attractive and scarce .36 caliber Remington Beals revolver.
