This is a beautifully displaying original classic Civil War .36 caliber Colt revolver. Known to collectors as the "navy” model revolver. These were a favorite of the Civil War cavalry and infantry as well. This is a complete gun with the serial numbers of 195,265 which was made in 1866. The action is fully functional. Across the top of the barrel you can still see part of the Colt maker’s mark and New York City location. These guns were made in Hartford, Connecticut with the New York City sales office location. It has the original 1-piece walnut wood grips on the handle of the gun. What makes this one really stand out is that in more modern times it has been nicely engraved. They engraved the frame, cylinder, barrel, loading lever and backstrap and triggerguard. The engraving is quite well executed. They also added a name on the backstrap but it is also a more modern addition. If you have wanted a Civil War era .36 caliber Colt that is engraved without mortgaging the house, then this one is for you.
