This is a cool looking little gun! It is an original flintlock pistol from around 1810 to 1820. The sides of the frame are engraved with the famous Dumarest retailer mark as well as their Paris location. The left hand side of the barrel has the Belgian style proof marks. The barrel is only 1-1/4ths inch in length and is designed to fire a single bullet of about .60 in caliber and it is finely rifled. The overall size of the gun only measures 6 inches with the barrel only making up 1-1/4th of those inches. As you see, the barrel is designed to be removed for cleaning. This one still unscrews and has matching assembly numbers of "1" on both parts. The gun is in the original flintlock configuration. The action works and it has the trigger that is designed to drop down out of the frame when you cock back the hammer. The original 1-piece wood grips are intact with a fine look all over. It has the ornate silver inlay on the top of the wrist. All of the metal parts have been polished bright and are starting to tone back down. This is cool little gun that displays quite well.
