I have always thought that this is one cool looking gun! This is the .44 caliber single shot Deringer pistol that was made by the Connecticut Arms and Manufacturing Company of Naubuc, Connecticut. These guns were made from about 1866 until the late 1880's. The top of the full-length 4 inch octagonal barrel has the Connecticut Arms Company maker marking. On the frame itself it has the October 25th 1864 patent date marking on the top of the frame. These guns have a very interesting design. The breechblock pivots to the left for loading. This one is still fully functional. This one has the original 2-piece hard rubber grips intact and they have a gorgeous look. This is a very cool looking gun from all angles.
