Here is a gun that you don’t’ see offered that often. It is an original percussion model of the Remington New Model Police revolver. These were made from 1865 until 1873 by the famous Remington firm of Ilion, New York. It has the remnants of their maker’s mark, production location and 1858 patent date along the top of the full-length 6-1/2 inch barrel. This is the longest barrel version that Remington made According to Flayderman’s guide he states that there were only about 18,000 of these ever made. He also noted that this barrel length "...brings a small premium." This one has matching serial numbers of 3,057. The metal parts on this one has a dull gray appearance with a pleasing look. On the underside of the grip it has a hole where it likely had a lanyard ring applied at one time. It still functions as it should. On the handle of the gun it has the original 2-piece set of walnut wood grips that display well as you can see. The mechanics of the gun work well on all positions. This is a tough to find New Model Remington Police revolver.
