Here is a nice original Civil War veteran reunion ribbon. This one is from the reunion of the members of the hard fighting 112th Illinois Infantry. They fought during the battles at Fort Donelson and Shiloh and then in Mississippi and Vicksburg. They fought in the Atlanta Campaign under General Sherman as well as the battles of Nashville and Franklin, Tennessee and were present for Confederate General Johnston's surrender in North Carolina. At the top of the ribbon it has the "Co. D. / 112th / ILLINOIS". The bottom has the "23d CORPS" designation. The ribbon is blue silk that has the ink in a darker blue color. The ribbon measures 7-1/4th inches by 2 inches in overall size. It comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
