Here is a nice original Civil War veteran reunion ribbon. This one is from the 1888 reunion of the members of the 8th Iowa Cavalry They fought during the Atlanta Campaign under General Sherman. They fought at Resaca, Dallas, New Hope, Kennesaw and Lovejoy Station. At the top of the ribbon it has the "4TH / ANNUAL / RE-UNION" and in the middle "8th / Iowa / CAVALRY / Centerville, Ia". The bottom has the location as well as the September 20th & 21st 1888 date of the reunion. The ribbon is nice golden silk that has the black lettering color. The ribbon measures 6-1/2 inches by 2-1/4th inches in overall size. It comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
