This is an original Civil War Newspaper. It is an original edition of the most famous of all Civil War newspapers entitled the Harpers Weekly. This one is dated June 8th 1861. Harpers Weekly newspapers were known for their beautiful engraving photos. The cover has the image of the Zouave soldiers of the 5th New York in their uniforms. On the inside of the paper it has lots of interesting articles and images. The center scene is an image of the area of the war including Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and North Carolina. One of the other engravings has a scene of the famous Colonel Elmer Ellsworth and one of the members of the Ellsworth Zouaves. The back pages of the paper have tons of advertisements for various products and services of the day. This is a nice solid example of the famous Harpers Weekly Civil War newspaper.
