This is a nice identified CDV image of a Union Civil War soldier. It has the pencil I.D. that states that the image is of Major Peter Vredenburgh, Jr. When we looked him up we found that he served with the 14th New Jersey Infantry. He enlisted in August of 1862 as a Major where he served until the September 9th 1864 when he was killed in action at the Battle of Winchester, Virginia. A brief service record on him and a brief history of the regiment will accompany the image at no extra cost. It has the bust view of Vredenburgh in his frock coat and you can see the shoulder straps on his uniform. On the back of the CDV image it has the photographer mark of the J.R. Marken gallery in Frederick, Maryland. The image is accompanied by a book about American Poets and in the back of the book it has his name and the date that he died. This is a nice CDV image of an identified Civil War soldier.
