This is an authentic original 1861 dated Confederate States of America $10.00 note. In the center of the note it has the image of the Goddess Hope with an anchor. In the lower left hand corner is the likeness of Robert M.T. Hunter who served as Confederate Secretary of State and a C.S. Senator. Before the War he was a U.S. Congressman and Senator from Virginia. In the lower right hand side is the likeness of C.G. Memminger who served as the Confederate Secretary of the Treasury and was the key man in production of Confederate paper money. This is the version listed as T-25 in Criswell's Confederate Currency book. It was issued from Richmond, Virginia and has the printed date of September 2nd of 1861. The note has a very nice look. It is correctly hand signed and dated. The note is in circulated condition and comes in an acid-free holder for preservation and display.
