Here is a VERY cool piece! This is an original Civil War envelope. This one is addressed to a a soldier in Canton, Mississippi. It is address to Mr. Willis Hunter who was in the 1st Mississippi Confederate Cavalry. The records show that he enlisted on 7/1/1862 into "F" Co. of the 1st Mississippi Confederate Cavalry. He made it through the War and Surrendered on 5/4/1865 at Meridian, MS. In the upper right hand corner it has the pair of five cent Jefferson Davis Confederate postage stamps with the postmark from Mississippi. The envelope has the cool looking age and wear and displays well as you can see.
