Authentic Original Rifle & Musket Bayonets of more than .58 Caliber
Edged Weapons
Great Looking .69 Caliber Bayonet in Original Scabbard With Buff Leather
Click on an image to enlarge

This is a fine non-excavated socket bayonet for the Civil War Springfield or other contractor made military .69 caliber rifle. This one has a full-length blade with the "US" stamp still clearly visible at the base. The socket is also in fine shape and it has the original lockring and screw present. This pattern was designed to fit the U.S. military rifles of the 1842 pattern by Springfield or the muskets made by the contract makers either one. It has a bright gray finish all over that will look fine on many of the higher quality guns that are out there. The bayonet is accompanied by the original leather scabbard. The scabbard is the pattern that is assembled using the 8 rivet design and has all eight of the original rivets remaining. You can still traces of the inspector stamp on the scabbard belt loop. The loop and the body of the scabbard are made of bridle leather as you can see in the pictures. It still has the original brass scabbard tip present at the bottom. The belt loop remains and would fit back onto your belt today. What makes this one a step above the others out there is that it is a late war style scabbard. This lets us know that it was made to go on the older style muskets that the army was still using even late in the war. This will be a solid addition to your gun or just for display by itself. '
