This is a very fine non-excavated original metallic cartridge. This is the pattern that is .30 caliber and fits the four barrel pepperboxes like the Sharps pattern gun. This is the pattern of cartridge that is pictured on page 64 of the cartridge book by Herschel Logan. On the bottom of the cartridge it has the "P" stamp. This is the mark of the famous Peters Cartridge Company which lets us know that it was made after the Civil War. This is a fine non-excavated piece of firearms history.
