This is a beautiful matching set of cavalry officer’s spurs. This is the classic model 1859 pattern that was worn by officer during the Civil War. They have the pebble pattern to the outside of the spur body and you can tell by the wear that these spent a lot of time on the officer. They have the floral pattern at the base of the rooster style neck. Both of the rowels are present and they still even turn freely. One of the things that make these spurs special is that on the inside of the strap loops they have the “GTB” inspector initials. According to the Spur Book by Stephen Dorsey this is the inspector’s initials of a known inspector working of the Allegheny Arsenal. This is a great addition to an already wonderful set of Civil War spurs.
