Click on an image to enlarge
Here's your chance at a very scarce original Civil War production revolver. This is the .44 caliber pistol manufactured by the Joslyn Firearms Company of Stonington, Connecticut. They only produced these revolvers in 1861 and 1862 with the small total production of approximately 3000 revolvers. The patent on these revolvers was hailed by Benjamin F. Joslyn. The top of the barrel reads "B. F. JOSLYN MAY 4,1858". This is the 2nd model of which approximately 2500 were produced. They are distinguished by their iron trigger guard. This is the early version of the 2nd model because it doesn't have the cap on the bottom of the grip. On the bottom of the grip you can see the clear serial number of 908 which matches with the rest of the revolver parts. On the handle of the gun it has the beautiful original 2 piece Walnut wood grips intact and they have their distinctive hand checkering to the center of each grip. The mechanics of the gun still work as they should. This is a quite attractive original Civil War Joslyn patent .44 caliber Army model revolver.
