This is an authentic engraving style CDV image of Union General Joseph Hooker (1814-1879). It is a nice clear CDV of the general in uniform. Hooker was a West Pointer that held the name "Fighting Joe". He held many of the important positions during the Civil War but will likely be best known for the band of "ladies" that followed his camps and forever more were to be known as "Hooker's Gals" later simplified to "Hookers". This is one of the version that were produced by using a steel engraving plate. It has his name across the bottom of the card. The overall size of a CDV image is approximately 2.5 inches by 4 inches in size. The CDV has been framed in old frame that measures 6-1/2 inches by 4-5/8ths inches in size and is ready to hang on your wall. It is a fine original CDV that will make a solid addition to any Confederate Civil War collection. '
