Original Matching Pair of Civil War Infantry Major's Epaulets
Click on an image to enlarge
Here's a fine display pair for your relic room. This is an original pair of officers shoulder epaulets. As you can see they are attractive from all angles. They are made with the embroidered brass bullion leaf applied insignia on the top which would denote being made for the rank of a Major. One of the leaves is missing but you can see the outline where it was at one time. Around the edges they have the original gold gilded bullion still present and on the underside they still retain the majority of the original lining. These are the higher-quality ones that are custom-made one for the right side and one for the left. The button on the small end lets us know that it was worn by a man serving as a staff officer. On the back of the button it has the Paris maker marking still visible. On the other side it has had the original button replaced with a naval style button with a blank backmark. You get both of them for $325.00. This is a nice pair of epaulets that anyone would be proud to own.
