Silvered 1-Piece Eagle with Shield Militia Coat Button GI61
Click on an image to enlarge

This has always been one of my favorite button designs. It is the version listed as GI61 in Albert's button book. It has the beautiful droop wing eagle on the face of the button with the shield by her side. Around the edge of the button it has the 16 stars. You can still see traces of the original silver wash down in the protected areas of the front that gives it a fine look. This is a 1-piece button with the original applied shank on the reverse. You can still read the "RICH QUALITY LONDON" backmark on the reverse of the button. This is a fine looking button that has that "straight out of the attic" color. '
