This is a fine non-excavated original coat size uniform button for the New Haven Grays. They served out of New Haven Connecticut. On the face of the button it has the old English style "NHG� letters in the center with the star at the top. The letters are above the Connecticut state of arms on a lined field. This is a fine non-excavated 23mm coat button. This is the style listed as CT27 in Albert�s book and CT265A1 in Tice�s button book. It has the original back and shank intact with a great attic tone. It has the correct Civil War production Waterbury Button Company maker�s mark of Waterbury, Connecticut on the reverse of the button. This is a fine original Civil War New Haven Grays coat Button.
