Here is an original Civil War document for allowing travel. These military passes allowed passage of George Denney, who worked for the Department of the Union Army's Quartermaster Office. It was written from Brandy Station, Virginia on January 2nd 1864. It is nicely written on 5 inch by 8 inch paper in fine brown ink. At the bottom of the document it was approved by the Assistant Quartermaster, Captain P.P. Pitkin. It is a fine looking document.
