This is a rare version of Civil War note from the State of
North Carolina. This is the $20 note that is listed as CR#78B in the Southern
currency book. On the sides it has "TWENTY" with the regular numbers inside of those. The center of the note has the image of the
goddess that is believe to be Ceres or Fame blowing a trumpet in the clouds. This
one has the hand written date of March 1st 1862 in the lower right
of the note. It has the red ink overprint that states "FUNDABLE ONLY IN SIX PERCENT BONDS. This version is tougher to find than the standard version The overall size of the note
measures 7.5 inches by 3.25 inches in overall size. These notes were imprinted by J. Manouvrier of New Orleans, Louisiana. It is nice circulated condition and has a couple of small holes near the center of the note and it is priced accordingly. The note comes in an acid
free holder for preservation and display.
