Here is a very cool piece! This is an original silk mourning ribbon worn by a member of the "German Union Club." This piece was one of the pieces that were made by a nation that was mourning the loss of President Abraham Lincoln. This silk ribbon measures 3 inches by 5-1/2 inches in size. The silk displays very well but has multiple tears as you can see. The center of the ribbon has the image of Abraham Lincoln. At the top it reads "German Union Club." At the bottom of the ribbon, it has the date of his birth written in German and the date he was assassinated, April 15th 1865.This is a neat piece of history from the assassination of Lincoln.
