Click on an image to enlarge

This is an authentic CDV image of Union General Robert Cumming Schenk (1809-1890). Schenk was born on October 4th 1809. He rose to the rank of Major General during the Civil War and served eight terms in Congress. Schenk was wounded in the arm at the Battle of 2ns Manassas. He died in Washngton, DC on March 23rd 1890 and is buried in Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio. It is a nice clear CDV of the general in his best dress uniform with the view from the waist up. The edges have been trimmed probably to fit in a CDV album. The overall size of this CDV image is approximately 2-3/8ths inches by 3 inches in size. The back of this card has the desirable photographer mark of the Anthony firm in New York City and notes that it was made from one of Mathew Brady's photographic negatives. It is a fine original CDV that will make a solid addition to any Civil War collection.
