This is a fine piece of history from a Civil War veteran. It is an original reunion badge that was made to commemorate the 40th reunion of the New Hampshire Veterans Association (Civil War). The gold ink states that the reunion was held on August 22nd to the 25th 1916 in The Weirs, New Hampshire. The celluloid has a fine tone of the man that the camp was named after, Augustus D. Sanborn who was the 5th New Hampshire during the Civil War. The top has the original original pin with it intact on the reverse. It has the maker's marking of the Whitehead & Hoag firm in Newark, New Jersey. Overall the pieces measures 4-3/4th inches by 2 inches in size. This one is very nice and will enhance any collection.
