Authentic Civil War Artillery Fuse Box From The New York Navy Yard Dated 1862

This is an 1862 marked original Civil War naval artillery fuse box. This is the leather pouch that went on the side of the Civil War naval artilleryman. It held his paper time fuzes for firing the cannon shells. The outer flap has a the very clear arsenal mark of "NY NAVY YARD 1862" with anchors flanking the date. The original closure tab is present on the bottom of the box as is the original brass finial. On the back of the box it has the original leather belt loop solidly intact. The leather is still nice and pliable and it displays well. This will make a fine addition for a naval or artillery collector either one.
