This is an original Civil War era CDV image of Civil War Brevet Brigadier General Michael Ryan Morgan. Morgan served during the Civil War mainly in the Commissary Department. He received his promotion to the rank of brevet Brigadier General on April 9, 1865, for his "gallant and meritorious services." After the Civil War, he continued his service in the Regular Army and retired as a Brigadier General until he retired in 1897. He is buried in St. Paul, Minnesota. The overall size of a CDV image is approximately 2.5 inches by 4 inches in size. This is a solid original Civil War Union CDV image.
