Lincoln's Vice-President! Hannibal Hamlin 2 Autographs Letter & Envelope

Here is a pair of original signatures of the man that served as Abraham Lincoln's first Vice-President, Hannibal Hamlin. This is an excellent letter that is written entirely in the hand of Hamblin and was written from Bangor, Maine. It is beautiful written in fine ink and signed "H. Hamlin." The paper measures 4-1/2 inches by 7 inches in overall size and is dated from April 25, 1886. This letter was written to Sylvester Snowman (1812-1889) in Bucksport, Maine, A letter from Hamlin, to Snowman, concerning an appointment sent to the Senate by President Ulysses Grant. The letter is accompanied by the original envelope that has the autograph of the former Vice-President. This is what is known as a "Free Frank". When official letter were sent instead of a postage stamp it would be signed by the dignitary in lieu of postage. You get the letter as well as the envelope, that's 2 autographs for $595.00.
