Confederate Governor of Georgia Joseph E. Brown Autographed Letter from 1867

Here is a cool autograph. This is a hand written letter by Confederate Governor of Georgia, Joseph E. Brown (1821 -1894). Brown was born in Pickens, South Carolina on April 15th 1821. Brown served as the 42nd Governor of Georgia from 1857 to 1865, the only governor to serve four terms. He also served as a United States Senator from that state from 1880 to 1891. He served as the Supreme Court Justice for Georgia from 1865 until 1870. He died on November 30th 1894 and is buried in Atlanta. The letter was written by Brown on August 1st 1867 to an unknown person. Brown states that he is happy to comply with that person's request. It is boldly signed in fine brown ink "Very Respectfully your obedt. servt. Joseph E. Brown". The paper measures 7-7/8ths inches by 4-7/8ths inches. The letter is accompanied by a modern xerox image of Brown for displays purposes.
