PAIR OF CONFEDERATE GENERAL AUTOGRAPHS! Gabriel Wharton & John McCausland

Here is a cool pair of Confederate General Autographs. This is a small document that has the clear two ink autographs of Confederate Generals. The top one is of John McCausland (1836 -1927). McCausland was a cadet and later a teacher at Virginia Military Institute. He reached the rank of Brigadier General on May 18th 1864. He refused to surrender with Robert E. Lee and chose to go to Europe and Mexico. He died on January 27th 1927 at Point Pleasant, West Virginia. The 2nd autograph is of Gabriel Colvin Warton (July 23, 1824 " May 12, 1906). Wharton was born on July 23rd 1824 in Culpeper County, Virginia. He was appointed Colonel of the 51st Virginia on August of 1861. On September 25th 1863 he was appointed Brigadier General. He commanded through the rest of the War. He passed away on May 12th 1906 at Radford,Virginia. The small piece of paper measures 3-3/4th inches by 1/2 inch in overall size. The paper is accompanied by modern xerox images of the Generals in their Confederate uniforms.
