Superb Autograph of Confederate General Johnson Hagood of South Carolina

This is a great original autograph of a famous Confederate General. This is the signature of Confederate General Johnson Hagood (February 21, 1829 " January 4, 1898)The General born in Barnwell, South Carolina. He was lawyer and served in the South Carolina State Militia before the War broke out. He was elected Colonel of the 1st South Carolina Volunteerrs in 1861. On July 21st 1862 he was promoted to Brigadier General. In 1880 he was elected as Governor of South Carolina. He died in his hometown of Barnwell, South Carolina on January 4th 1898. The signature is on a piece of that measures 6 inches by 9-1/2 inches in size. It is signed "Johnson Hagood" and is on a printed transcript about a letter dated July 12th 1890. The letter is accompanied by a modern made xerox image of the General in his uniform to enhance the display. This is a fine original Confederate autograph!
