This is a gorgeous original 1861 dated $20.00 note from the state of Virginia. In the center of the note is the image of a Virginian, President George Washington. On the left hand side it has the image of the Goddess Minerva with a caduceus. In the lower right it has the image of a Washington like man seated in a toga. The note has nice colors with the black and green inks which make this design stand out well. It is correctly hand signed in ink for the Treasurer and public accountant at the bottom of the note. On the right hand side it has the hand written date of August 1st 1861 and on the right hand side it has the capitol location of Richmond, Virginia. The note is in circulated condition but displays well. It comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation. The overall size of the note measures 7-1/2 inches by 3 inches. This is an attractive Civil War dated $20.00 bill from the state of Virginia.
