This is an excellent reunion medal from the Grand Army of the Republic. The Grand Army of the Republic was the veteran's organization made up of Union veterans of the Civil War. This medal is for a soldier from the state of New York. The top bar has the Utica reunion location and notes that it was the 37th Annual Encampment and it has the medallion bar hanging down. The hanging medallion bar has the "DELEGATE" label so you know it was worn by an actual soldier not just a visitor. The red ribbon is in nice shape. The lower medallion has the image of the veteran in the center that was the department commander Joseph W. Kay. The back of the medallion has the notation that it was given with the compliments of the Utica citizens. The pin is present on the back of the medal. This is a beautiful designed reunion medal in nice shape.
