Portsmouth, Virginia 1861 Dated 25 Cent Note With Sailor Scene

Here is a good looking note. This is a piece of currency was issued by the Merchants and Mechanics Savings Bank in Portsmouth, Virginia and is marked as such along the top of the note. It has the printed date August 1st 1861. The note depicts the sailor on the left hand side. It is made with the blank back which is known as it being "Uniface". The date is hand inscribed in brown ink signature. Don't miss your chance to own this interesting note. The note measures 6-5/8ths inches by 2-3/4ths inches in size. It comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
