Fine Gilded Non-Dug Civil War Infantry Officer's Coat Button
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a fine non-excavated coat size Civil War Infantry button. It has a beautiful mellow golden tone patina all over. The face of the button has the spread-wing eagle with the "I" shield on its chest. This denotes the infantry branch of service. The original back and shank are intact. It has the correct Civil War era unmarked back. The maker's would often leave the back blank so that the button could be sold by any retailer without advertising for the true button maker. This is a great looking Civil War 21mm uniform button.
