12-1/2 CENT NOTE! Farmers' Bank of Virginia Note From 1839
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a tough to find bank note in beautiful uncirculated condition. This one was issued by the Farmers' Bank of Virginia that was located in Winchester, Virginia. It was designed in the 12-1/2 cent denomination. There is the print dated from November 1st 1839 in the lower left hand corner. It would have been correctly hand signed and numbered in ink but this one is in excellent unissued condition. It has the eagle on the right hand side with the Spanish style coin image in the center. It measures 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches in overall size. The note is only printed on one side which is referred to by collectors as being "Uniface". This is a note that is not an easy piece to find!
