This is a great looking coat size Civil War uniform button. This is the button worn by a member of the Utica Citizens Corps from New York. It has the letters "UCC" in the center of the button face with the wreath around the letters. The Utica Citizens Corps were formed on December 8th 1837. The unit answered Lincoln's call and became the 14th New York Volunteer Infantry, Company A. The face has fine detail with an excellent amount of the original gold gilding remaining in the recesses. On the back of the button it has the original back and shank intact. It has the correct maker's mark of the R&W Robinson of Attleboro, Massachusetts. This is the style listed as NY90 in Albert's button book and as NY273a1 in Tice's button book. They state that these buttons were produced during the 1840's and 1850's.
