J.E. Condict Maker Marked Cavalry Horse "Link" Strap with Snap Intact

Here is a piece that you don't see offered that often these days. It is an original black leather "link" strap. These were used by the soldiers serving on horseback. When they would get off of their horses they used these to link the horses together, hence the name. It has the original iron snap still intact as well as the original square brass buckle. The leather still has a pleasing black tone. This is the version that is known as the Model 1874 Link Strap that is Listed In Ordnance Memo # 18, 1874. This is a fine used but not abused example.
