Attractive 1863 Confederate $1000 Bond With Customs House of Richmond Image
Click on an image to enlarge

This is an authentic 1863 dated Confederate States of America $1,000.00 savings bond. This is the beautiful style that has the vignette of the Old Customs House in Richmond, Virginia at the top. It was engraved by George Dunn & Company of Richmond, Virginia and is marked along the lower edge of the top portion of the bond. This one has the 7 of the original interest coupons attached at the bottom. When the date on the coupon arrived that is printed on the bottom of the coupon you could cash it in for your interest payment, if the Confederacy would have won. It has the correct ink signatures and numbered by the Confederate Government. This is the style listed as CR-130b in the Confederate bond book by Criswell and as #263 in Ball's Book on Confederate Bonds. This will make a fine display as it is or it will look even better framed up on you office or relic room wall.
