Confederate General Mansfield Lovell In Uniform CDV Image
Click on an image to enlarge

This is an authentic CDV image of Confederate General Mansfield Lovell (1822-1884). It is a nice clear CDV of the general in uniform. Lovell graduated West Point and entered Confederate service as a Major General in October of 1861. He was put in charge of New Orleans but the city could not hold out and surrendered in April of 1862. Many in the army blamed loosing New Orleans on Lovell and he held no further command assignments during the War. This is a great looking image of the general and you can see the stars on his collar. On the back of the card it has the photographer mark of the New York firm of Anthony. It is a nice touch on an already wonderful image. The overall size of a CDV image is approximately 2.5 inches by 4 inches in size. It is a fine original CDV that will make a solid addition to any Confederate Civil War collection.
