This is an excellent reunion medal from the Grand Army of the Republic. The Grand Army of the Republic was the veteran's organization made up of Union veterans of the Civil War. This medal commemorates the reunion that was held in Saratoga Springs, New York in 1906. The top bar has the "DELEGATE" marking that lets us know it was worn by an actual veteran and wasn't just a souvenir. Hanging down from the top bar is the celluloid of the department commander. The ribbon is red white and blue and has the golden lettering that reads "DEPARTMENT ENCAMPMENT G.A.R. SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. JUNE 20-21-22, 1906". It has great color all over and even has the original pin and maker's label on the back. This is a beautiful designed reunion medal in excellent shape.
