Superb Autograph of Acting Confederate General George Paul Harrison

This is a great original autograph of a famous Confederate General. This is the signature of Confederate George Paul Harrison (March 19, 1841 - July 17, 1922). The General born in Savannah, Georgia. He attended the famous Georgia Military Institute before the Civil War. His first Confederate service was in the 1st Georgia Regulars. He later served with the 5th Georgia as well as the 32nd Georgia. Harrison was wounded at the battle of Olustee in in 1864. He was appointed Brigadier General in winter of 1864 but another source says it was in May of 1865 by Kirby Smith and another says it was never confirmed but he served in a General's capacity. After the Civil War he served in politics in Alabama. Johnson died in Opelieka, Alabama on July 17th 1922. The signature is on a typed letter that is dated November 23rd 1909 on the letterhead of the Central Georgia Railway Company. The paper measures 8-1/2 inches by 11 inches in size. It is signed "Geo. P. Harrison" and is accompanied by letter from the superintendent of the railroad. The letter is accompanied by a modern made xerox image of the General in his uniform to enhance the display. This is a fine original Confederate autograph!
