1862 Montgomery, Alabama $2.00 Note From Banker, Josiah Morris

This is a neat looking original Civil War piece of currency from Montgomery, Alabama. It was issued by private banker, Josiah Morris for the amount of $2.00. It has the printed date of issue of March 20th 1862. It has the classic standing Indian Brave at left and a large red "TWO" protector at center. They added the red ink to help prevent counterfeiting. This note has Josiah Morris' name horizontally at center with the city and date near the top. It is in heavily circulated condition with a repair to the back. It measures 7-1/4th inches by 2-7/8ths inches. It comes in an acid-free holder for display and preservation.
